The Library of the Popular Traditions Centre is located in the "House of the Surgeon" and offers to scholars and enthusiasts an extensive collection of specialized publications including the important collection "Notebooks of the Popular Traditions Centre" and Italian and international magazines dedicated to the area of folk traditions.
Inside the Library, there is also an extensive collection of videos of traditional performances (such as mystery plays, the gypsy) and ethnographic documentaries about the typical activities of the tradition (iron working in the Serchio Valley, bread making, spinning and weaving in Garfagnana etc).
The bibliographic heritage of the Library is available for consultation and on credit with the following opening hours: Tuesday to Friday from 10.00 to 13.00 and Tuesday afternoon from 15.00 to 17.00.
Access is allowed on other days and times by appointment.
